How Guilds work: the five W's
What
Place-based professional communities for peer learning, practical conversation, Record practice, and occasional meetups—not a credential, job, or hiring channel.
When
Events are listed on the rolling three-month calendar below. Members choose whether to attend; there are no required operating shifts.
Where
Local groups are organized by metro area or region, with selected online conversation continuing through the private JPC Discord Community after provider checks pass.
Why
To make professional community less dependent on one employer, conference, or crowded feed—and to help people learn from real work together.
Roles and membership
Guild Member
Participates for personal and professional benefit, follows the Community Rules, and chooses whether to attend local or online activities.
Occasional Event Host
May volunteer for one bounded, optional local gathering. The role carries no continuing moderation, administration, support, safety, or JPC-representation authority.
JPC or paid Advisor host
Uses the standard cadence, rules, escalation path, and minimal program until a region can support a dedicated paid role.
Regional Guild & Lab Lead
A future paid, CLPRA-qualified employee role responsible for regional oversight after activity, funding, capacity, employment, and operating gates pass. Recurring Guild work is paid work.
